The high-quality all-round care for horses sensitive to laminitis and metabolic disorders.

Metabolic disorders are increasingly leading to sensitivity of the horse's hoof. Metabolic disorders are widespread and can lead to massive disturbance of the hooves and enormously increase the sensitivity of the hooves. For a long time, not only ponies and robust breeds suffer from sensitivity to laminitis, but also large horses. The degree of hoof sensitivity varies greatly, and in addition to metabolic disorders, a variety of other causes are possible. In the case of such a sensitivity to laminitis, the horses make special demands on the diet. In most cases, a special diet is necessary, which requires a reduction of sugar and starch in the feed. This restriction in feeding and husbandry, which in many cases also requires a renunciation or a severe restriction of grazing, however, leads to a reduction in many vital substances. Especially the supply of minerals, vitamins, trace elements and amino acids is often limited due to dietary restrictions and, with the additional sensitive metabolic situation, quickly leads to a deficiency of essential nutrients and vital substances. With regard to this risk group, it is now of great importance to supply the horses specifically with minerals, vitamins, trace elements and amino acids in order to reliably compensate for this deficiency and thereby support their overall vitality, regeneration and well-being.

Especially important is a high supply of vitamin E, selenium and trace elements, which provide reliable cell protection due to their antioxidant effect. Metabolic sensitivities are often accompanied by intestinal stress, which leads to a restriction of the self-synthesis of vitamin C and the B vitamins. Supplementation of these water-soluble vitamins is therefore highly recommended to support the entire cell metabolism process. Since the group of sensitive horses, according to recent studies, has an increased need for magnesium, Atcom REHE-VITAL contains a special combination of high-quality organic and inorganic magnesium. Magnesium is essential for enzyme function and cell membrane permeability, among other things. Blood tests often showed a lowered magnesium level in the blood of these horses. In addition, REHE-VITAL contains a high-quality supply of the organic trace element zinc, since zinc plays a key role in important processes in carbohydrate, protein and fat metabolism. Disturbances of the intestinal flora and strain on the liver, strain on the metabolism and the immune system as well as stress can lead to an individual additional requirement for zinc. Since zinc supports, among other things, the physiological growth of the hoof horn, a sufficient supply is essential, which is optimized through the administration of REHE-VITAL. Linseed and linseed oil as well as other vegetable oils provide essential unsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3 fatty acids. In sensitive horses it is important to support the hoof horn formation on the nutritional side. Therefore, REHE-VITAL additionally provides essential amino acids that can support muscle metabolism (lysine) on the one hand and hoof horn quality (methionine, cysteine) on the other. Added lecithin and B vitamins support liver and carbohydrate metabolism. In addition, lecithin can improve the elasticity and moisture of the hoof horn. REHE-VITAL is enriched with bentonites to prevent toxins.

Atcom REHE-VITAL thus offers a complete and targeted all-round supply of all vital substances and is especially suitable for horses sensitive to laminitis and metabolism. The high-quality composition and nutrient composition is low in sugar and starch.

These special properties distinguish Atcom REHE-VITAL:

  • complete mineral feed in premium quality ensures in highly available form the basic requirement of essential nutrients of the horse sensitive to deer and metabolism and prevents nutritional deficiencies
  • free of molasses, cereal components and glucose for optimal tolerance
  • low in sugar and starch
  • enriched with biotin and essential hoof nutrients (methionine, cystine, lecithin, zinc) for targeted support of the hoof horn
  • with organically bound copper, manganese, zinc and selenium
  • liver protection and prevention of toxins thanks to bentonite, B vitamins and lecithin
  • canfacilitatethe coat change
  • special nutrients such as biotin, organic trace elements and diatomaceous earth can support skin function and metabolism
  • with high doses of vitamin E, organic magnesium and essential amino acids to support muscle metabolism
  • the high-quality all-round supply intensifies the color and shine of the hair coat
  • optimal selenium supply, since Germany is a selenium deficiency area.

Atcom REHE-VITAL is ideally suited:

  • for high-quality all-round supply specially adapted to the feeding of the horse sensitive to deer and metabolism.

General tips for feeding horses with laminitis and/or metabolism sensitivity:

  • adequate amounts of hay (possibly in combination with straw) approx. 1.5 to 2.0 kg of hay per 100 kg of body weight
  • pay attention to fructan and sugar content of the hay - water hay if necessary
  • feed reduced sugar and starch (be careful with cereals and concentrated feed)
  • Sufficient supply of amino acids (via REHE-VITAL)
  • Sufficient supply of minerals, vitamins and trace elements (via REHE-VITAL)
  • slow weight loss in case of overweight (risk of hyperlipemia)
  • Use feed with low glycemic index (we recommend unmelted beet pulp)
  • Dietary measures to support the flora of the large intestine (B vitamins, bentonite ; contained in REHE-VITAL)
